Directions for Downloading and Opening Coastal Storm Drain Outfall Monitoring Data:

1) Save the file to the hard drive of the computer by one of the following options:
	A)  Right click on the file icon and select "Save Target As.."
	    Select the location where you want to save the file to

     OR
	
	B)  Double click on the file icon and open the file
            Select File Menu, Select "Save As" and choose the location where you want to save the file

2)  Go to the location where the file is saved and right click on the icon.

3)  Select "Open with.." and choose a program to open the file with.  It is recommended that Excel or WordPad
    be used to open the files.


List of Acronyms:

The following are acronyms used in the data set and what they stand for:

-99	No data available because the pipe was dry due to one or more of the following reasons:
		(1) No water flowing from the pipe;
		(2) The flow is being diverted to the sanitary sewer and therefore there is no flow;
		(3) The pipe was blocked with sand;
		(4) The flow was too low to take a sample (100 mL was not available for sampling);
		(5) The surf was too high to take a sample safely.
	** Note that if no sample is taken from the pipe for any of the reasons above, no upcoast sample is taken.
