The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued an advisory warning not to consume all bivalve shellfish (mussel, oyster, clam, scallop) recreationally harvested from the coast of San Diego to Santa Barbara Counties, including Orange County. This is due to elevated toxins and domoic acid biotoxin in shellfish at multiple locations in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and San Diego counties. This advisory does not apply to commercial shellfish from approved sources. For more information call the Shellfish Hotline at 1-800-553-4133.
