NowCast 2019

NowCast / Predictive Summer Modeling Project

The County of Orange is currently participating in the NowCast project in collaboration with Heal the Bay and Stanford University. The project is operating at multiple beach locations within Southern California during the Summer 2019 season. The stations in Orange County include: the projection of Brookhurst Street in Huntington State Beach, the projection of 38th Street in Newport Beach, and the interface of San Juan Creek with the ocean. The NowCast system uses computer models and environmental data to predict daily bacteriological water quality, much like a daily weather forecast. NowCast predictions will be updated daily, during the Summer study period through October 31, 2019. Click here to learn more about NowCast.
