NowCast 2020

2020 NowCast / Predictive Winter Modeling Project

The County of Orange is currently participating in the NowCast project in collaboration with Heal the Bay and Stanford University. The project is operating at multiple beach locations within Southern California during the Winter 2019 season. The stations in Orange County include: the projection of 17th Street in Huntington City Beach and the interface of the Santa Ana River in Huntington State Beach. The NowCast system uses computer models and environmental data to predict daily bacteriological water quality, much like a daily weather forecast. NowCast predictions will be updated daily, during the Winter study period through March 31, 2020. Click here to learn more about NowCast.
